Hip Cat DJ

A Hip Cat DJ is a DJ that is assigned to one two hour set a week. A DJ may be assigned to one set a week.

Requirements of a Hip Cat DJ

  • Must be a Junior or Inhabitant
  • Must have been a Kitty Cat DJ at least three months.

Responsibilities of a Hip Cat DJ

  • Primary responsibility is preparing the playlists and playing the music.
  • Playing requests is up to the individual DJ. If the DJ accepts requests, they should let their host know, so the host can relay that to the guests.
  • Welcome visitors as they arrive.
  • Interact with the guests. Keeping the interaction moving is the responsibility of the host, while the DJ focuses on the music and requests, but the DJ should still be interacting.

Removal of a Hip Cat DJ

  • Hip Cat DJs are required to commit to one set a week. If they regularly fail to show up, show up late or leave early, they run the risk of removal. Always contact a Student Union Member or Admin as well as the host. We understand RL comes first and we will account for that, we only ask for communication.

Hip Kitten DJ

A Hip Kitten DJ is a DJ that can fill in when an assigned DJ is unavailable due to RL. It is also considered to be a type of “training” role.

Requirements of a Hip Kitten DJ

  • Must be a Sophomore or Denizen
  • Must have been a Kitty Cat Host at least three months.
  • Should have done some DJ events through “Open Mic” events and/or as a House DJ.

Removal of a Hip Kitten DJ

  • As the role is partially a training role, if the training doesn’t work out, they could be removed.
  • If, after some time, the Hip Kitten DJ has not been able to substitute in any event, even when events are needing help, and the Hip Kitten DJ is not a House DJ or filling in on Open Mic nights, there is a chance the Hip Kitten DJ could be removed.
