A little less than a year ago, Meri joined the sorority. She almost didn’t stay, as she had inadvertantly brought some drama along with her.
I encouraged her not to leave, and she settled in pretty readily. Soon she was offering her help in any capacity we would accept, and started organizing and running small events.
She also started actively recruiting girls for the sorority, talking to them as they arrived, explaining what we are and how we work, and encouraging them to become a part of our family.
Her events became more regular, and she took on more responsibilities, until eventually we offered her the role of Admin.
Now, she wasn’t the first person with admin roles in Chi Tau, but she was the first to be made an admin “offically”.
She took this opportunity and ran with it. In very little time, she was not only running events, but teaching others to run them as well. She wasn’t just acting as admin, but teaching others to also.
She continues all of this to this day, continuing to run events, to recruit, to teach and much, much more. She has proven herself invaluable to this sim, to the point that she does many things better than i do, and i regularly lead new members to her for education. she’s gotten that good at what she does.
If you’ve never been on a Merilee tour of the sim, i highly recommend it… i tag along on them whenever i can just for the fun of it.
She has become a family member, an asset, a confidant, and a friend. I can no longer imagine this place without her, and i know that without her it would only be half of what it is now.
She keeps telling me that she is just part of the team. I say she is the lynchpin of the team… she keeps us all together, checks us when we err, picks us up when we fall down, and reminds us of what we’ve done together here when we forget.
She has made herself invaluable to me and Trasee, and to our Chi Tau family.
I have been working hard to keep this a secret from her for a long time now… which isn’t easy for me, but…
thank you Merilee for everything you do for me, and for us. in your honor i officially declare this party not just a Chi Tau anniverary, but a Merilee appreciation party as well.
Thank you for being here and taking care of all of us. We all love you.
That sentiment applies to all of our admins too, you all go out of our way to take care of us and we appreciate each and every one of you, thank you so very much.

That was such a beautiful, spot on speech, Ancilla. I was copying it to a notecard to suggest to post it here in case you wouldn’t do it anyway.
I’m glad I made it to the anniversary, and I’m proud that I won the battle against fatigue and stayed until the end. The whole Anniversary party did show again, what a jewel Chi Tau has with Merilee.
I still remember the day when I first met her, and the fun Catalenya and I had with her after the party. I liked her at once, and was sure she’d be a wonderful sister. I wasn’t aware of the drama you mentioned, Ancilla, but I’m glad you could convince her to stay. Merilee became a dear friend to me, who always was there for me when I needed a friend, and helped me in more ways I can and want to describe here. Everybody who spends time in Chi Tau notices what she does for the Sim, the sisters and the guests. I take the chance to tell her, how much I appreciate what she did, and still does for me on top of that.
Thank you, Merilee, for being such a wonderful person!
The drama was unintentional and of a personal nature, so i choose not to discuss it. i’m glad we could convince her to stay as well, this place would definitely not be the same without her.
It’s all fine, Ancilla. I didn’t want to delve into some long gone drama. I only wanted to express that I didn’t notice it back then, and that I’m glad it didn’t prevent her from staying.
